we just finished a last minute audio assist on the sundance-bound feature film, ’sound of my voice’.
if you’re heading out to the festival this week, be sure to check out the wonderful project lead by first time director zal batmanglij. featuring great performances from christopher denham (shutter island, charlie wilson’s war), brit marling (who also wrote the story) and nicole vicius and an original score from rostam batmanglij of vampire weekend, SOMV is sure to be a festival favorite.

this week also marks the chicago debut of ‘william s. burroughs - a man within’. the film has been enjoying quite the reception around the rest of the united states - with sold out shows and extended runs in new york, los angeles and more - and we’re very excited to have the hometown premiere at the music box theatre this friday, january 21st.

last but not least, we’re in the process of finishing post-production for a short-film from New York City director Brittany Shaw, entitled ‘Curiouser’. More information on this one coming soon!
the first round of public voting in the philips cinema ‘parallel lines’ competition was suspended on sunday evening, and ‘the craftsman’ secured enough support to move on to the final five films!
these five are now subject to another round of open voting to determine a ‘people’s choice’ winner, as well as going in front of ridley scott, who will crown his personal overall pick.
the second round of voting continues through september 19th, so if you can, please vote again for ‘the craftsman’. you can log one vote per computer per 24 hour period.. so feel free to vote every day!

we recently completed the sound design for a short film, entitled ‘the craftsman’, which was entered in the 2010 philips cinema ‘parallel lines’ competition. written and directed by a talented team of up and coming london-based filmmakers - neil ingall, phil dunlop and julian mccrea - it was a fantastic project and an honor for us to take part!
additionally, we are very happy to announce that the film has been voted one of the top 10 entries by a panel of judges from ridley scott associates, bafta and philips, and will now move on to the next round of the contest! audio is a big part of the judging criteria, so it’s quite a compliment to be given such accolades in the midst of so many great submissions.

‘love in bulk’, a short film i did the sound design and mix for, has been officially selected to screen at the upcoming 2009 san diego film festival in san diego, california! the festival runs from september 23-27, with premieres being shown at the gaslamp theatre in downtown san diego. although the full lineup won’t be available until september 1st, tickets and passes for the entire event are on sale now.
